The Cricket Scotland Player Development Framework has been created to provide a clearly defined philosophy and set of principles to guide and support all those involved in developing international cricketers for Scotland.

The Framework aims to take a more holistic view of player development, promoting a more integrated approach to the development of technical, tactical, physical and mental skills. It has been designed as a development tool for coaches, support staff, players and parents to utilise- and is deliberately nonprescriptive, seeking to invite users to engage with the principles, contextualise and apply it to their own environments.
Provide a clear understanding of the key characteristics required by our international players to be consistently successful on the world stage
Develop a shared understanding of the different ways to develop these characteristics
Inform development of coaches and coaching practice throughout the player pathway in Scotland
Align key messages and support networks around the player in order to optimise development
To provide coaches, cricketers, parents and support staff with clear principles and reference points for player development within their own environments
